T HE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S God, our heavenly Father. Does God hold back the sun from the people who do not love Him and trust Him? No, it shines for everybody. Just think c the lovely sunshine, the pure, fresh air we breathe, and the cool, sparkling water to drink. All these wonderful gifts are free, they do not cost us any thing. Jesus loves everybody and sends His gifts to all. Prayer. Lessen Story.— James, can you tell me what kind of people Jesus told ub to love and treat kindly? How many remembered to pray for some one whom you did not like? Clara, will you tell us about the one for whom you prayed? (This is a splendid opportunity for a little testimony meeting. Children are splendid personal workers, with a little help and encouragement from teachers and parents.) Today our story is about Jesus loving everybody, so you see He did not ask us to do something that He Himself was not doing. When Jesus was living down here on earth He showed His love in many ways. When He saw people in trouble, He felt sorry and helped them. One day just as He was about to enter a city, a funeral procession was coming out of the city gate. The dead man was th’e only son of a widow woman; and many of her friends were with her. When Jesus saw her, He pitied her, and said, “Weep not.” And He came and touched the bier on which the body lay, and those who carried it stood still. Then Jesus said, “ Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.” And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Jesus showed His love for the poor mother. When we love people we like to do all we can for them. (Tell the sttfry of the woman anointing Jesus in the home of Simon, picturing the scene in the home, and explaining the customs of that day, em phasizing Jesus’ love for the sinner, and

his willingness to forgive and help all who come to Him.) Jesus was never too tired or too busy .to help those who needed help. How happy this poor woman was when Jesus forgave her sins, and told her to go home in peace. Jesus forgave all who came to Him, and helped wherever He went. Our memory verse teaches us He was kind toward the unthankful and evil. We remember how He prayed for those who nailed Him to the cross. Jesus loves everybody, and He wants us to love everybody. Now when we meet some one that we do not like or who is un kind to us, le.t us remember that Jesus loves that person, and then ask Him to help us to love him too. , ' Closing Prayer. Dear Lord Jesus, we thank Thee for loving us and forgiving our sins, and help us to love and trust Thee every day. THE INSIDIOUS FOE One of the most encouraging signs of the day is that orthodox churchmen have begun to recog nize the danger and are beginning to combat it. They are calling for an alignment. “ He that is not for Me is against Me,” the test that Jesus used so powerfully, is the test that will accomplish the pur pose. It may split denominations that now seem compact. It may give rise to new denominations. But there are worse things than divi sion, and if we must sacrifice prin ciple, if we must let go all that we hold dear in our Christian faith and experience in order to have unity, by all means let us have division.— Rev.
