been made to that ship, with many inter views, and the Greek, English, Spanish, German, Italian and Russian men supplied with literature, the crew changing almost every trip. On the last voyage an engi neer was found o f whom we heard after ward, that the reading o f the books we gave him had completely changed his life, keeping him from falling into Eddyism and bringing him to a life o f assurance of salvation and Bible study. Also, on that

same vessel a cook, a Roman Catholic, told us how he sat up until 2 o’clock in the morning, reading Moody’s Sermons, and that though he tried he could not keep the tears from coming to his eyes as he read. - Pray for a young wireless operator who seems interested; for a chief officer on a Dutch liner who wants nothing but his own will; a customs officer who is very puffed up but who has no "peace; as well as for the other men spoken o f in this report.

WORK OP THE BIBLE WOMEN

Mrs. T. C. Horton, Supt.

\ \ T E had been sent on a special mission * * to one who needed help. W e won dered how we could approach the subject in the best way ; so much depends upon the proper appeal/" As we went, we prayed God to open J:he way to this one who was a stranger, that, He would give just the right word. In response to our ring the door was opened by the lady herself. She seemed very interested, but as we talked, the puzzled expression in her eyes cleared, as she exclaimed: “ Oh, I know you. Do you remember Mrs. B.? I was there once when you went to sae her.” So God answered our prayer. W e talked with her, .Opening God’s Word and showing her where she stood without Jesus Christ, and what she could have in Him. In a simple, childlike way she accepted Him as her Saviour and Lord. Thus God answers prayer and'clears and prepares the way. It was toward evening and there were just two more houses on my street. I was very tired, and so glad that it was nearly time to go home. One sometimes gets almost too tired to tell the dear, dear story, but then we are like the Master at the well—we forget all about being tired when we find a hungry heart. There was a little delay after I rang the bell. I rang again and then the door was opened by a young woman. In answer to questions, she

told me she was studying New Thought and wouldn’t be interested in my class. But I was praying as I talked and said, “ New Thought? Why I have a friend who is in New Thought—my sister-in-law.” She was interested then, and I told her why I couldn’t accept it, opening my Bible that she might read the Scriptures concerning the Deity of Christ and the natural deprav ity o f man. Soon she asked me in and I am sure we talked for an hour. I for got all about being tired, though it was late and I was far from home. Why should I care? I had talked with one to whom I knew God had spoken. She came to the class the following week and regularly after that, coming to the Lord in a short time., Her faith has been so simple, and So sweet. God has blessed her in many ways, and just recently she has had the joy o f leading her husband to accept Christ. She tells me she came near not answering thè bell that first day, thinking I was an agent, but that she cannot thank God enough for sending me to her. Passing along the street on the way to a “special” case, a lady seated on a porch called out and said, “Won’t you please come up and see me? You remember how you came to me when I was sick.” Then we recalled how some time ago, in the course o f house visitation, we had met a
