THE KING’S BUSINESS

to be saved. A fter pointing out the way, he also accepted Christ as his Saviour. Thus this new convert proves that he not only professes faith in the Lord Jesus, but that he has Him as a present possession, and is winning other souls for Christ. In one o f the section houses visited, we had the privilege o f leading three young men to the Lord, and lately find a great

hunger among the people there for the W ord o f God. One man said that they never before had the Gospel presented to them, “ but by hearing it again and again we eventually see the truth; so don’t for get us, and. come -as often as you can so that we, too, may learn the way o f salva tion.”

U OD has been very near to us this past month and brought not a few men to Himself, down in the heart o f this big city. Many encouraging things have been accomplished. One o f these is recited in a letter, written by a man who was con verted and after being a great help to, us here in the work, was called to Globe, Arizona, where he is now working in a mine, and doing Christian work among the Indians on the side. He writes: “Just 'feceiyed your letter and also your card,, before Christmas. Both o f them brought a great blessing to my soul. Your card struck nearer my heart than anything else I got for. Christmas. ‘W e need you at the Biola Club’, sounded good to me. You fellows must surely have been praying for me all right or I wouldn’t have been able to stand out here in this wilderness, and I am afraid at that I haven’t stood very well. “Our Father only knows how I want to get back to Los Angeles and the good old Biola Club. I will be with you, too, some o f these days again, by His will. Believe* me, by my Saviour’s grace and help, I will give the Old Boy a wallop or two more before I die. “ Indians may have a red skin, but I am persuaded that many o f them will go into the kingdom before some o f our white citizens. The Indian agent on the reser vation has blocked every move we have made, and it has been hard work to reach any o f them. Our minister threw up his hands when I spoke about Indians, and said, ‘What can we do? W e are blocked on every side.’ However, he forgot the

top side. That isn’t blocked and can’t be blocked. I replied that where God had' called us to go, He would go before and prepare the way. Today we see the answer to our prayer, as the agent has been removed. Guess our Jesus is looking after us all right Say, won’t it be fine when we get up there and see how this all works ? Praise the Lord, the night is far spent; the day is at hand. Dawn is breaking in the east. “Just received a telegram from Washing ton, in answer to the one we sent asking permission to hold another service among the Indians on the reservation. We are instructed that the Commissioner o f Indian Affairs has wired the agent here to permit us to hold meetings, if there is no good reason not to. ‘If God is for us, who can be against us ?’ ” The second thing is a testimony from one o f the boys who came in last July and accepted Christ. It reads as follow s: “ I had always believed in God, but never was certain that Jesus Christ was the Son o f God. I always thought o f Him as a prophet and a man whom we could well follow as an example, but not as the Saviour o f the world as I now know Him to be. I was brought up in the Methodist Church, and always attended Sunday School and church until I got beyond moth er’s control, and it .was then that I quit going to either. The Bible I thought was a man-made book, and after a few years I began to read Bob Ingersoll’s books. At times I did think o f accepting Christ as
