1. Play the audio “U.S. National Anthem,” from the previous lesson. Ask the students to whisper to a neighbor what song this is. (the national anthem) 2. Next, have the students read the article. Circle the title of the patriotic song in the article. (“America the Beautiful”) 3. Play the first verse of "America the Beautiful" to the class. Have the students look at the lyrics of the song “America the Beautiful” so they can see how the words fit the tune. 4. Use the America the Beautiful Song graphic organizer. 5.
