Alan Paine Autumn Winter 2019 collection is inspired by “Winter in London”. This season we have drawn our inspiration from winter in our capital city of London. From the busy, vibrant streets of Soho with their neon facades and warm, inviting bars and traditional old English pubs, to the soft light of evening sunshine on old Square Mile bricks, the warm glow of Victorian shopping arcades with their elegant shop interiors and cobbled grey streets, to the banks of Old Father Thames and the muddy swirling waters and cool winter breeze. Yarns are typically luxurious, from Lambswool and Cashmere to Merino and Alpaca in a range of styles to suit today’s modern gentleman looking to complement his winter wardrobe. Italian check shirt colours are inspired by the neon colours of Soho and the soft pastels of brick and concrete mixed with a pop of colour. Outerwear is luxurious and practical, consisting of Italian four-pocket M65 jackets, working collar canvas waistcoats (ideal for layering under quilted wool blazers), dry wax and wool herringbone coats. This lively, multicultural capital forms the backdrop and inspiration for our knitwear, shirts and jacket collections, providing quintessentially English wardrobe essentials for winter in the city for today’s modern man.
