BROLL AUCTIONS AND SALES
Carroll adds that Ponte Tower in Johannesburg is a good example of a building which has been turned around by the private sector. Let them loose on the other 250+ badly neglected buildings in the Johannesburg CBD, she says, and see what it will do for the city. “Introduce tax incentives to bring investors and businesses back to the city where they once used to achieve good returns or run successful enterprises. Don’t kill us with higher and higher rates and taxes in a city that is so mismanaged.” A strong platform for real estate sales With Helen Zille in the running for Mayor of Johannesburg there may be some light at the end of the tunnel. In the interim, Broll Auctions and Sales is forging ahead with strengthening its teams around the country. Both the Durban and Cape Town offices are increasingly busy and the Pretoria team is being extended. Across the board the company is working hard to drive more Government work in terms of the disposal of non-core assets, and instigate more cross-border auctions. “We’ve been successfully active for 10 years and are still finding outstanding value for buyers, and providing sellers with a strong platform to dispose of real estate. The Broll brand is the leading property brand in South Africa in our view,” Norman says. “It underpins our trusted reputation in the marketplace. We have an excellent track record and aim to remain the auction service-provider of choice across all real estate assets.”
