But an imminent shift in power at the powerhouse that is Growthpoint Properties justifies focus on the man that will soon be at the helm of the country’s largest primary listed real estate investment trust (REIT). As CEO of Growthpoint Properties South Africa, Estienne de Klerk is the natural successor to take over the reins as Group CEO of Growthpoint Properties when Norbert Sasse , the current Group CEO retires in July 2026.
Estienne de Klerk is the future Group CEO of Growthpoint. His qualifications include a BCom (Industrial Psychology); BCom (Hons) (Marketing); BCom (Hons) (Accounting); CA (SA). And this year he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Not one to sit around much, he spends his leisure time playing squash and padel, mountain biking, or in the gym.
