PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• Knowledge and experience of implementing and internally auditing an energy management system such as ISO 50001 or ISO14001 • Understanding of complex information and data relating to environmental performance, along with the ability to communicate complex information concisely and appropriately to a range of audiences. • The ability to negotiate and secure effective and ambitious objectives to deliver change. • The ability to manage budgets effectively and prioritise own workload in meeting requirements and deadlines. • The ability to support and motivate colleagues to deliver agreed objectives. • The ability to use Microsoft office packages particularly outlook, Teams, Excel Word and Powerpoint Personal Qualities • Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion • Commitment to excellent customer service • Demonstrable personal and professional commitment to the University’s strategy, vision and values. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of different roles. • The ability to manage projects effectively and independently. • Good analytical skills with the ability to handle and analyse large data sets effectively and accurately to produce meaningful information and insight. • A personal and professional commitment to energy management and cutting cost.

Qualifications • Degree, or demonstrable significant experience in a similar role, preferably in a Building or Building services discipline or equivalent industry/work experience • Relevant professional Membership (e.g CIBSE, RICS etc) and evidence of continuing professional development. • Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute or requirement to commence this within first 12 months of employment. Experience • Significant experience in a related role in a multi building estate. • Significant experience and knowledge of the UK energy and utility sector, including procurement and billing operations • Practical experience and technical knowledge of building services, utility management software, BMS, EMS and energy legislation. • Experience of implementing energy and water saving projects. • Experience of energy and water management and wider sustainability agenda. • Experience in a similar role ideally within a higher education or other educational environment. • Experience of developing and delivering effective training and awareness campaigns Knowledge & Abilities • A comprehensive knowledge of utility and carbon reduction good practice and understanding of environmental sustainability. • Experience of preparing and assessing detailed business cases and feasibility studies.

TERMS & CONDITIONS • This post is offered on a permanent basis on commencement and is full time (37 hours per week). We offer flexible and hybrid working opportunities where possible and in agreement with your manager. • The salary for this post will be at Grade 7 (£38,560 - £43,374 per annum) and is subject to cost of living and incremental progression until the top of the grade is reached.
