And Friends

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to look through our catalog. All the breeders offering cattle here have worked for years to be able to offer the sets of females in this sale. In today ’ s genetics it is easy to chase every fad, or try to top every single EPD on the dozens of them listed—both are things that, in my opinion, can wreck the maternal quality of a herd. Here you are getting genetics from herds that never lose sight of how important the mother cow is to any ranching operation. This has been kind of a crazy year for us. I (Kim) broke my leg pretty severely in ear- ly June. Wow, that brought me to a screeching halt in everything! I mention this only to say how thankful we are for everyone that helped out and made it possible for us to continue to get all of the cattle work done. On the way to the ER we were literally on the phone with friends, who showed up later that very day, to make sure the work got done and cattle cared for. We are so thankful for everyone that helped out, gave us support, provided meals, and just helped us hang on. You are all the best. Back to the sale. There are a lot of de- tails about the cattle in this catalog. Feel free to look everything over and contact any of us with any questions you have.

Sincerely, Jason & Kim

K2 Red Angus Jason, Kim, Laynie & Cole Goertz 2 S. Goertz Road, Wheatland, WY 82201 307-331-2917

K2 Red Angus has been raising Red Angus cattle for 25 years, and in those years always focusing on building good maternal genetics that work well in a low input environment. These cattle are bred for good structure in feet and legs, excellent udder quality, high fertility, great disposition, and they need to do all this with limited inputs and tough range conditions.

No female offered by K2 Red Angus in this sale has ever been open at preg checking.

High Elevation cattle—We have been PAP testing all of our bulls and some females for the past 25 years. The cattle in this sale should work well at high elevations.

K2 Bred Females-Breeding & Health information Heifers have “ breeding ” tags in their right ear. K2 Bred heifers (lots 3-6) have been preg checked in August so that we could deter- mine age of pregnancy. They are guaran- teed to be pregnant if the buyer chooses to have them re-checked before December 31, 2025. We will refund or credit the differ- ence on any heifers that have lost a preg- nancy. K2 Bred Cows (lots 1-2, 11-15) Have been preg checked 2 times prior to the sale and the 2nd time within 10 days of the sale. They are guaranteed bred at that time. Ages: Since we are going by actual age of each cow, the age listed is her age as of No- vember 20, 2025.

All K2 Bred heifers & cows have been vac- cinated with Virashield 6VL5 at preg check.

All K2 bred females offered here will have 2026 Calves eligible for Angus Access value added program.

TY Cattle Co. Dean & Marika Anderson 570 TY Basin Rd Chugwater, WY 82210 Marika 307-351-4760 Dean 307-351-5600

Dean & Marika are lifelong ranchers, as part of the West Family Ranch, and then going out on their own with TY Cattle Co 15 years ago. They have been good friends and good neighbors of ours for a long time. They raise Red Angus & Red Angus cross cattle. Even though they raise commercial cattle, Marika has the records to trace the pedi- gree for several generations on all their cows, especially the calves resulting from their many years of AI breeding. They now have many K2 herd sires in their herd that are bulls we collect and use semen on in our registered herd. When it comes to bull power we think they have some of the best out there. Raising and breeding females for this sale is a part of TY Cattle Co ’ s operation every year, not just when it is dry or price is right. They produce cattle specifically to sale here. They have a extremely low maintenance program and work breeding a manage- ment decisions to fit these few inputs. More details are on each lot ’ s information Cattle have been preg checked Sept 21st, and vaccinated with Vista 5 VL5, 7Way and Safeguard dewormer. Guaranteed bred as of Sept 21st. All TY Cattle Co bred females offered here will have 2026 Calves eligible for Angus Access value added program

Important Sale Notes Updated head counts for each lot will be an- nounced sale day. There are different head minimums on some lots. Any females in this sale have the option of coming back to this sale—for example calves born out of these females, bred heifers from these heifer calves, or bred 3’s.

While raising Red Angus females for the commercial cattleman, we have no- ticed a growing demand for Red Baldy heif- ers. After working with and purchasing bulls from K2 Red Angus over the past 10 years, we have partnered to offer this excellent selection of baldy and brockle-faced bred heifers from K2 customers—including our own herd. These are the same baldy heifers you ’ ve come to love at the K2 & Friends Fall Female Sale. Our ranch is situated in eastern Wyoming, near the historic town of Hartville. Our cattle graze and calve on the open range, but they have a gentle and easy-going disposition. Our main goal has always been to produce heifers with strong maternal traits, bred to premium calving-ease bulls that will produce quality calves at weaning. These are the same baldy genetics offered in this Fall Female Sale every year. All daugh- ters of K2 Red Angus bulls that are highly maternal in their genetics and have low PAP scores. For the past several years we have been working on setting things up for Roth Land & Cattle would take over the Baldy cat- tle offered in this sale. After working with Keith & Christina for the past 10 years we knew they would be a great fit for this sale. Slater 68K is the same AI sire used in the sol- id red heifers in Lot 3. He is outstanding for

calving ease and calf vigor and well proven for working in range calving conditions.

What makes an outstanding calving ease bull? Consistency I emphasize this because it is not gen- erally every calf that puts you and your heifers in a bind, it is the outliers. Those 5, 10 or 20% that are just too big and/or shaped wrong. I believe a big contributor to this is com- ing from our so called “ calving ease ” sires; sires that in their bloodline the calving ease actually

varies greatly. A sire that throws birth weights from 58-95lbs. Or, a dam that throws a lot of birth weight, so she was bred to extreme calving ease—the resulting animal on average sure looks

like calving ease—until his progeny start coming out with the full spectrum from his sire ’ s light calves to the dam ’ s huge calves. Some of this variation also comes from chasing the “ Curve Bender. ” Producing the calf that is very small at birth and well above average at weaning. K2 Slater 85G 68K has Consistency bred in Sire Enterprise—had very consistent type and kind of calves for us. Dam 85G — 3 calves ratio 92 for birth Granddam 714 — 10 calves ratio 97 for birth Semen available through K2 Red Angus & Hot Shoe Red Angus

What makes him also be a bull to use on cows and to get daughters that will improve your herd?

Maternal line quality A granddam like Sheridan 714. Produced up to age 16. Pictured at age 9 (sides), and 2 with her first calf (lower)

Patton was one of the most sought after bulls in our 2024 sale, and a bull we used on our registered heifers before of- fering him in our bull sale. Roths have a his- tory of picking out the best bulls offered and making sure they go home them. These heifers couldn ’ t be bred better.

Roth Cows—Red baldies— 2’ s coming 3, & 3 year olds

6 head— Sell as one group

Ultrasound preg checked September 19th, to calve starting April 30 for 30 days.

I know it is very hard for Roths to part with these young cows, but I have been trying to get them to offer some for the past 2 years. Finally they said yes! These young cows packed the pounds on their calves this year, weaning some of our largest calves. Half of these cows are back from the lot we purchased in last year ’ s K2 sale. The other half is from our home-raised group out of some of our best cows and by leading Hereford sires, including NJW Long Haul 36E and Schu-lar Selection 16C.

Cattle are Lots 16-20

These cattle come from Kim ’ s parents. Pat & Sherri have been selling consistent, high quality bred heifers for many years, with many long term and repeat custom- ers. Cullen Ranch has been selling bred heif- ers for over 30 years. They raise moder- ate cows (dries weighing 1200lbs in June 2025) with nice conformation and sound structure. For generations the mothers of these heifers have calved in range conditions with only supplemental hay. Perhaps most importantly, they have se- lected for disposition in all these genera- tions of females. These cattle are worked with horses and ATVs, handled slowly and quietly. Basically they are bred, raised, and handled to fit well into any program. Heifers were preg checked September 10th Vaccinations— Virashield 6VL5, Scour- guard 4KC and poured with Clean-up These heifers were preg checked in Sep- tember so that we could determine age of pregnancy. They are guaranteed to be pregnant if the buyer chooses to have them re-checked before December 31, 2025. Cullen Ranch will refund or credit the difference on any heifers that have lost a pregnancy.
