Medical House Calls With Compassion focuses on taking care of individuals with an emphasis on the elderly community. The majority of our patients are homebound and we pride ourselves on being able to meet their needs with house calls, which we have been doing for over 20 years. We ensure that our patients have all their medical necessities fulfilled, ranging from filling daily medications and providing necessary equipment, to diagnosing dementia or assisting with wounds. We help our patients in whatever way we can with the goal of bettering their lives. DID YOU ALWAYS WANT TO WORK IN THE MEDICAL FIELD, HOW DID YOU DECIDE? I always knew that I wanted to go into a profession where I could help people every day. When I became interested in the field of medicine, it appeared to be a perfect fit. I did not know that I wanted to go into geriatrics until my second year of residency. I started doing home visits as part of my geriatric training over 25 years ago and continue to appreciate getting to know the patients and families we serve. WHAT MAKES YOUR TEAM SPECIAL? Our team is unique in that our primary focus is on the patient. We care deeply about the outcomes and progress of each individual that we care for and are therefore very thorough. We strive to do what is in the best interests of our patients.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO AT HOME CARE? When we go to the home, we can evaluate how someone functions in their surroundings. We can spend time with each individual without feeling rushed, like in an office setting. Treating our patients at home provides us with a better understanding of what support they need. We offer emotional support to families and work with a team of specialties that go into the home and work to improve our patients quality of life. We are able to coordinate blood tests and radiology services at your home. WHAT TYPES OF MEDICAL CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT, AND FOR WHICH AGE GROUP? We work with patients ranging in age from 20 years old to over 100 years old.
