On Technique

A Few Favorites

There’s a gentle oxidation technique, similar to acid washed denim, that takes away the top layer of wool to show off the embossed silk layer. A similar process involves a blow torch - just a tad more difficult to control.

For one project, Kush used satellite image translate topographical maps into rugs. Fo they replicated a 150 year old Chinese rug that included taking exact measurements vine detailing 6 times to make sure every d perfectly captured.
