The Berlin-based manufacturer FRITZ! has launched the FRITZ!Box 4690 in the UK; the router, which can be used at any internet connection, allows internet speeds of up to 10Gbit/s. The top model of the FRITZ!Box 4000 series supports Wi-Fi 7, and achieves up to 6.9Gbit/s thanks to dual-band operation. A 10-gigabit WAN port as well as one 10-Gbit/s LAN and three 2.5Gbit/s LAN ports provide for maximum speeds over wired connections as well. The device is rounded out with a DECT base station for telephony and smart home applications plus a USB port. All convenience features familiar from the FRITZ! family, like Mesh Wi-Fi, VPN, Wi-Fi guest access, and firewall, are also on board. Connect with a modem and surf away The FRITZ!Box 4690, once connected to a fibre optic, DSL, or cable modem, or alternatively, to a router distributes data and content like live-streams, downloads and images with Wi-Fi 7 and high gigabit speeds to every device in the home. We found the configuration via the browser- based FRITZ!Box user interface or the MyFRITZ!App to be very easy. Thanks to the DECT base station, various smart home devices can be connected and controlled easily via FRITZ!OS or the FRITZ!App Smart Home.
