At the same time, he said, traditional boundaries between broadcasting, telecommunications, cloud services, content creation and advertising technology are disappearing. While engineers will continue to play a vital role in advancing technology, Dr Basham stressed that the challenges facing the sector extend beyond engineering. Success will increasingly depend on how organisations adapt their business models, generate revenue and meet rapidly evolving consumer expectations.
