REFLECTIONS ON THE YEAR WHAT 2018 TAUGHT ME
And just like that, 2018 has come and gone. As we renew our calendars and plan for the future, I find it beneficial to look back on the year that was. After all, when you want to determine where you go next, it’s always a good idea to keep in mind where you’ve been. Reflecting on the past year, I am struck by just how lucky I am for the people around me. Our firm has transformed in the past year, literally. Our renovation was completed this spring, and the impact of the changes has been great for the whole team. Everyone has their own office space now, a welcome change from the cramped conditions we were temporarily in before renovations were complete. Now we can collaborate when we need to, while also being afforded our individual space when we simply need to drill down and work.
matters most: helping the people you serve. This is especially true in the legal field, where plenty of competing goals, motivations, and ambitions can muddy the water. But when you find people who share your commitment, who are passionate about their work, and who are willing to learn, something amazing happens. In all my years as an attorney, I can say that I’ve never been more proud of the team I have standing with me today. Across the board, I have seen members of our firm rise to the occasion in the past year. It has taken a tremendous amount of weight off of my shoulders, and I just want to take the time to say how much I appreciate it. To our veteran members of the firm, thank you for always providing me with your perspective and advice and for helping me keep this firm moving in the right direction. As for our newer additions to the team, your willingness to hit the ground running and learn all you can has been inspiring to see. Together, our firm resolved a great number of new cases last year. Being able to help so many people simply wouldn’t be possible without trust, respect and hard work. Thanks to my team, I’m confident we’ll carry this momentum into the new year, meeting even more milestones along the way. If 2018 taught me anything, it’s that you need to appreciate the people in your life, at work as well as at home.
That includes those I represent. As I look back on the year, I recognize that I don’t have the full picture. Just as I rely on my team to give me feedback and advice, I would love to hear things from your perspective. What are we doing right? Where were our missteps? What would you like to see more of? Whether you’d like to give us feedback over the phone, or leaving a review for us on Yelp or Google, we’d appreciate hearing what you have to say!

Happy New Year,
Our firm has changed in more intangible ways as well. In any business, it can be difficult to unify a team behind a clear vision of what
