forces for a final onslaught against God’s elect. We can never stand before him in our own power. There is only one course open to us that can please God and save man: God’s Way, God’s Man, stronger than the strong man armed. He, too, is in our midst, eagerly looking for chan nels through whom He can manifest His power. What shall we answer Him ? I

THE MARCH OF EVENTS [Continued from page 45]

antichristian rule and will usher in an era o f righteousness o f which man has dreamed from time immemorial. Then shall be fulfilled the Patmos vision: “ And there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms o f this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall, reign for ever and ever” (Rev. 11:15), and “ an angel . . . laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years” (Rev. 20:1, 2 ; cf. vs. 3-6; Psa. 2:6-10 ; 110; Isa. 11:1-10). W h at To Do What then is the wise attitude to take toward events immediately before us? Every sinner who reads these statements from God’s prophetic Word should immediately accept Christ as a personal Saviour: “ Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isa. 55 :6). “ But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons o f God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor o f the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1 :12, 13). Then when Christ comes to remove His own from this scene before the crash comes and this reign of terror is ushered in, all who trust in Him will be saved from the approaching era of suffering and death, for we read: “ Because thou hast kept the word o f my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour o f temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” (Rev. 3 :10 ).' T o receive Christ as Saviour and to walk with Him in obedience now is to < be accounted worthy to escape these things that shall come to pass (Lk. 2 1 :34-36). Unsaved, unprepared friend, confess your sins to Christ now, trust in Him and His atoning blood— for His word is: “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5 :24)— and yield A Letter from Mrs. Torrey The preceding issue of the K ING 'S BUSINESS was called the Torrey Memorial Number, in honor of Reuben Archer Torrey, the first Dean of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Writing from Wheaton, III., on January 4, 1936, in a personal note to Dr. Rood, the President of the Institute, Mrs. Torrey said: Dear Dr. Rood: The memorial number of the K IN G 'S BUSINESS has brought me great happiness. May I express here my sincere gratitude to all of the friends who contributed articles in memory of my husband. I am deeply touched by the fact that a bronze tablet is to commemorate Dr. Torrey's ministry to the Bible Institute, and to the Church of the Open Door. May both this tablet and the memorial number of the KIN G 'S BUSINESS point to the Saviour whom Dr. Torrey unceasingly proclaimed. Praying for God's richest blessing on you and the Bible Institute, Faithfully yours, C LA RA B. TORREY.

Metropolitan Water District To the child of God who has glimpsed the beauty of such scenes as the one presented at Thousand Palms Canyon near Indio, Calif., the words of the psalmist have a new significance: "Sing unto the Lord, . . . for the Lord is great . . . Honor and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary." allegiance to Him now— “ Yield yourselves unto God” (Rom . 6 :13 ; cf. Rom. 12:1, 2 ). As concerning Christians, each one should be diligent in keeping himself unspotted from the world, ardently de voted to Jesus Christ, and faithful in telling others of these coming events. Urge the unsaved to prepare to escape from hell’s reign on earth by receiving Christ as a personal Saviour. The Lord instructs His own: “ Occupy till I come”. (Lk. 19:13), and, “ Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part o f the earth” (Acts 1 :8 ). Chris tian, are you faithful to your trust in the light of current conditions and impending events? (Rom. 12:10-13; cf. 1 Tim. 1 :11). Finally, every Christian should pray consistently for a supernatural revival in the church o f Jesus Christ and for a gracious ingathering o f souls before the Lord catches away His church (Hab. 3 :2 ). “ Revive thy work, O Lord.” Dr. Bauman’s Articles For readers who have missed the prophetic articles written by Louis S. Bauman, here is good news: Dr. Bauman is prepar ing, for the March issue of the K ing ’ s B u siness , an article deal ing with especially significant world happenings. The absence of his contributions from the last two issues of this magazine has been occasioned by an extremely heavy schedule of pastoral and literary duties. Dr. Bauman has written a number o f booklets, a few of which are mentioned on page 68.
