Cheatham County Generation Site EIS Scoping Report

Appendix C Summary of Scoping Comments

Tennessee Valley Authority

I just left my comment via the online comment site https://tvaforms.wufoo.com/forms/mam2f8s1fhz4u6/ But I wanted to include a video of my drive down Lockertsville Rd that I love because of its quiet natural wooded beauty. BEAUTY!! As I would protect my son from an abuser's harm and exposure to poison, I intend

to protect my home from TVA. I use the term abuser because I continue to discover many cases of TVA's problematic facility's leakages, explosions, and hazards it places on the environment and the living. I would call this abuse by TVA. This cannot happen here. TVA must develop an intelligence amongst it's leadership employees and find a way to shift our energy needs and methods to harness electricity. I will attach my recording of my video to this email. I ask that TVA abandon's this Cheatham county 286 acre site as it's next to my home hamlet - a quiet agricultural community of generation farmers and homestead seekers who wish to protect our natural land, water, air and creatures. -Nerissa Aquino Protector negative Nerissa Aquino 37015

Hello, my name is Alex Faulkner and I have been born and raised in the 6th District of Cheatham County. I am a member of Scout troop 6 and we are 103 years old and have 104 Eagle Scouts! Last year in eighth grade I wrote a paper on the Tennessee Valley Authority. One day when I'm old enough I would like to have a seat on their Board of Directors. Today, I rise in opposition to the planned use of fossil fuels. I appreciate TVA in their efforts to curb the use of coal as natural gas is a more reliable source that would slow down the current carbon footprint on the earth. Why can't we invest in renewals? Why can't we utilize this 285 acre parcel for the new generation of reliable recourses? On a recent trip through Georgia I looked out the window and

saw miles and miles of solar panels and thought that it would make good manufacturing jobs, provide clean electricity, and help curb the increased carbon footprint. We came here tonight to beg you to turn TVA towards a better direction and allow people like me to lead the organization when you guys are long gone. THANK YOU

FW: 2024 Integrated Resource Plan [#10] At what point will regard for life be above that of the desire for money? As someone who lives in Cheatham County, TN, I am 100% against this. It will negatively affect everyone, human and animal alike, who lives here. negative Adell Daly 37082

I appreciate the opportunity for the public to provide feedback on this issue. I personally have major questions about the proposal, as seen below. 1. Having the EIS compare only action vs. no action sets up a biased study - an "action" result doesn't mean it is the best choice, or even a good one. It would just show that it is better than doing nothing. a. EIS should look at benefits of solar, wind, biofuels as well as CT b. The EIS needs to do a more complete examination of the extent of the impact of this plan on the water table. 2. Dangers of methane pipeline: a. Risk of explosions b. The negative impact of methane gas on the environment is also scientific fact, not supposition. c. The instability of natural gas prices (i.e.-both the California Air Resource Board, and the California Energy Comission expect Natural gas prices to trend higher at least through 2030). This is particularly relevant since one of the factors impacting natural gas prices is extreme weather conditions (AKA the impacts of climate change). In summary, the TVA has a responsbility to the people of this state to not only provide power in the short term, but also to take a longer view - to acknowledge the science behind climate change and focus resources on developing and employing renewable energy resources. negative Daniel Rachlin
