The proposal by TVA for a gas site in Ashland City is unnecessary, undesired and detrimental to the residential area surrounding it. It will destroy the natural beauty of the area

Regarding the proposed gas facility on Lockertsville Road: what was the criteria for choosing a site? How large a factor was the cost of the property, and the cost of doing business in Cheatham County, vs Davidson County? How were residents and contractors building homes in that area notified? What environmental impact analyses where performed? Where are those results? What open-to-citizen meetings were held (or are going to be held)? What positive economic impact will occur to the citizens of Cheatham County? What negative impacts? Land, once developed, can never be returned to its predevelopment state. What is the traffic impact on the surrounding community? People live here for a reason; folks have a right to continue the lifestyle they have (rural, quiet, non-polluted, pristine). negative Marsha Hunter 37146

I am writing to express my strong opposition to TVA's proposal to build a simple cycle Combustion Turbine (CT) natural gas plant in Cheatham County. As I write this, the evidence of the destructive impacts of climate change are literally in the faces of middle Tennesseans. There is an air quality alert due to wildfires in Canada as well as a dangerous heat alert. Scientists have made it very clear that these and other impacts of climate change are going to get much worse unless there is a concerted global effort to rapidly and steeply reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The U.S. has made a commitment under the terms of the Paris Climate Accord to reduce such emissions by approximately fifty percent by 2030. This is no time for TVA to be building more fossil fuel plants that will result in CO2 emissions and that risk the leak of methane into the atmosphere. Instead, I urge TVA to replace the power production from the Cumberland Plant with a combination of installing utility-scale solar plus battery, incentivizing DER (especially rooftop solar), and greater efficiencies. As a person of faith, for me this is a moral issue. We must protect God's good creation from the already present destructive impacts of climate change on humans and all other living beings with whom we share this bountiful but threatened planet. Thank you for your consideration. Rev. Paul Slent negative Rev. Paul Slentz 37027

TVA should extend the comment period since the deadline is just 6 days after the Open House and overlaps with multiple other TVA open comment periods. ● A methane gas plant and pipeline are polluting, dangerous and costly compared to alternatives like energy efficiency, solar and wind power. ● TVA should be putting itself on track to eliminate costly, polluting fossil fuel plants, not building brand new ones. ● TVA should expand the scope of this study to a wider geographic area and study other less disruptive and polluting energy sources that this community and energy consumers deserve. Per NEPA regulations and precedent, TVA has to consider reasonable alternatives - not just action and no action. ● Any steps TVA has already taken to advance its preferred alternative—like precedent agreements with pipeline companies—must be clearly disclosed to the public. ● If integrating renewables is a justification for the project, TVA must explain in detail what it needs, where, and why.

● TVA is beginning a new Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), and justification for this project from the last IRP is already out-of-date. TVA should not rush to build more fossil fuel projects when it is already behind in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Please do not pursue this site. This area is not suitable for this type of operation. We citizens of this area do not appreciate the effort to put this in the middle of our farms and residential area near our small town. Especially, when the much larger and wealthier beneficiaries are in West Nashville. We will not allow this bullying go on with out a response. Their are most certainly more suitable locations than this. This feels like an attack on our neighborhood and way of life. You shouldn't pick on people unnecessarily like this. This community is fired up and ready to fight this misstreatment by your much TOO powerful organization. Oh, Thank you for your consideration. negative Matt Clarke 37035 Ashland city has been a growing community for years. Why can't they locate a truly "rural" are with less population? Using tactics to slowing buy up property then have a meeting to let the people know what is really happening is not good business. This will ruin property values in the surroundings area and it will be hard to recover. Big business needs to do more Due diligence negative Esther Hunter 37015 Please stop the building of a methane gas pipeline. As we find ourselves in the throws of climate change, it is not progressive nor in the best interest to continue to rely on methane gas There are opportunities for the TVA to find alternative energy solutions and we need these alternatives now. You are crippling people with whom have has their land for over a century. I KNOW how the running of pipeline deflates property value and I KNOW how you DO NOT compensate family for the agregious takeover of their land. It happened to my family Stop, please! negative Susanne Smith 37015
