stop the power plant at sycamore creek

● TVA should extend the comment period since the deadline is just 6 days after the Open House and overlaps with multiple other TVA open comment periods. ● A methane gas plant and pipeline are polluting, dangerous and costly compared to alternatives like energy efficiency, solar and wind power. ● TVA should be putting itself on track to eliminate costly, polluting fossil fuel plants, not building brand new ones. ● TVA should expand the scope of this study to a wider geographic area and study other less disruptive and polluting energy sources that this community and energy consumers deserve. Per NEPA regulations and precedent, TVA has to consider reasonable alternatives - not just action and no action. ● Any steps TVA has already taken to advance its preferred alternative—like precedent agreements with pipeline companies—must be clearly disclosed to the public. ● If integrating renewables is a justification for the project, TVA must explain in detail what it needs, where, and why. ● TVA is beginning a new Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), and justification for this project from the last IRP is already out-of-date. TVA should not rush to build more fossil fuel projects when it is already behind in energy efficiency and renewable energy. ● The greenhouse gas analysis must comply with the Center for Environmental Quality’s (CEQ) guidance negative Mary Moore 37040

this site in Cheatham County near Sycamore Creek is a terrible site for this type of plant. Is there not a reason that this could not easily be placed in an area like Ashland City Industrial area and have Solar at the proposed site only as this would have negative environmental impact and the solar could be behind a treed border so that it would not be visible to the residents. Also for the need for grid stabilization is a gas plant the best environmental option. If we are looking at environmental impact the burning fossil fuel (methane) is not helping climate change at all and may be worse than coal. You at the visitation were not able to convince me that this was the best option for the current global environmental needs for power and that is our environment.

Friends of mine who I regularly stay with in the area made me aware of TVAs plans and in no way do I support these plans. This area is gorgeous and I would hate to see the natural area get disrupted.

We The People of Pleasant View TN, who open our land and pay our taxes and live within the city limits DO NOT WANT TVA’S Gas/ Battery Plant near our drinking water or Sycamore Creek! You are not welcome here! negative

We do not need another fossil fuel-based power plant! TVA could become a leader in clean electricity generation by switching to renewable forms of energy such as solar and wind. Adding

more renewables and phasing out fossil fuel plants is better for the health of Tennesseans and our environment in general. Emissions from the burning of fossil fuels pollutes the air and our water. The proposed pipeline for the proposed natural gas plant threatens local waterways. Please stop putting profits over the health of Tennesseans. Rather than staying mired in the polluting past, TVA should become a leader in renewable energy so all of us who live here can have a healthier future. negative Sonja Hunter 37087

Please do not put the generation site in Cheatham County! There must be a better way to generate power

Hi, With regards to the proposed Cheatham County development, I strongly urge TVA to consider investing in renewable energy sources now, and to minimize the impact of this site on both the

surrounding built and natural environments. Cheatham county officials may be permissive, but its residents are not. We moved to a rural area to escape the land, water, light and noise pollution of development - please respect that. The writing on the wall is clear through federal initiatives and funding. TVA needs to promote real sustainability in its practices, not greenwash enough to appease the masses while still continuing harmful and outdated ways of providing power. negative Jessica Arthur 37015

Cheatham County Generation Site [#1] I would like to see a primary reliance on clean energy sources, such as wind and solar power with battery backup. Natural gas should also be connected, but only utilized during times of absolute need, such as during extreme temperature events. neutral Alex Murillo 38401
