I do not want a dangerous gas plant in my community. Nor do I want gas lines being forced across my property or that of my family and friends properties. In the current economy focus should be in creating more jobs not eliminating them. Of there are safer alternatives the TVA needs to go with that or just stick coal. negative Jillian Osborne 37015 This gas build would also fail to deliver for the region’s workers and economy. While the Cumberland Fossil Plant has previously employed over 250 people, TVA’s proposed gas alternative would only create about 25 to 35 permanent jobs. A recent study commissioned by Appalachian Voices shows that clean energy is a reliable and cost effective replacement that would create far more jobs, providing a permanent boost to local economies. negative Kevin O'Rourke 13316

All power companies must change over to clean energy at every opportunity. That is the only way to preserve the viability of the planet. No more natural gas, coal or methane plants should ever be built.

Gas is not a sustainable solution, and its use must be phased out if we are actually thinking of how people's lives will be in the long term. Please don't be on the wrong side of history for short term convenience, and please be willing to take the first step forward with something new and promising for people and our fragile planet itself. negative Lena Nahan 2140

Appalachian Voices Public Scoping Comment Letter Appalachian Voices Public Scoping Comment Letter TVA has plans to build solar and battery storage in other areas. Why not in Cheatham County? Why not in Stewart County? I, and other locals, would much prefer a clean, safe, affordable, and reliable alternative, but solar wasn't even given a fair comparison in the recent Cumberland EIS. Instead, TVA produced faulty studies to favor the gas buildout since it had pre-emptively entered into a deal with a gas giant. Now that TVA has a full board and is not relying on the sole decision of CEO Jeff Lyash, the decision to replace the Cumberland City fossil plant with two gas plants and a combined 44 miles of methane gas pipelines should be reconsidered. Gas plants are expensive, dangerous and pollute our environment. Stop planning more fossil fuel infrastructure and lead our nation into a clean energy era. negative Angela Mummaw 37191 In case you hadn’t noticed we are in the fight of our lives with climate change. Knowing that does something as stupid as this make sense? There is clean energy available. We do not need pups;ines, more oil and gas facilitates or drilling. What we do need is clean energy, less pollution, clean air, clean water, and the list goes on! But no more fossil fuels. negative Paula Morgan 32708 Appalachian Voices Public Scoping Comment Letter No gas plant or pipeline anywhere! We need clean, renewable energy & we don't need more polluting fossil fuels. They are on their way out but the pollution left behind is debilitating to the air and water and soil. NO MORE! negative Sandra Morey 94602

Rising temperatures and more severe storms worldwide should make it obvious to any fair-minded person that we are destroying our beautiful planet by burning fossil fuels. Surely renewables are a sensible alternative! negative Joseph Mondello 80538

For over 40 years we have known of both the danger of global warming as well as the green technology to avert it. Yet, science now warns that unless fierce actions are taken immediately, in under 25 years this planet--our only home--will become a desert.

Evidently, the greatest threat to humanity is actually NOT greenhouse-gas, but rather bipartisan corruption.
