Appalachian Voices Public Scoping Comment Letter After decades of operation, the Cumberland Fossil Plant is no longer cost effective or reliable, and it is one of the most polluting coal plants in the country. This is why I support TVA’s decision to close the Cumberland Plant. I strongly encourage TVA to replace the plant’s capacity with a renewable electricity alternative that is cost effective, safe and reliable while bringing jobs and economic development to the region. No more polluting solutions to our energy needs. negative Sue Walden 94109

Your ignorance and greed seem to know no bounds!!!
We all face extinction if measures are not taken immediately to start to reverse the last 100 years of devastating pollution and actions or lack of actions that have us in the climate collapse we are facing. The clock is ticking to no life on planet earth, you have the power to enforce change now and "maybe" be remembered for saving the human race or be "known" as the powers to be that did nothing!!! negative Richard Vultaggio 28690

Building more infrastructure for dirty fuel generation is contrary to our goal of increasing clean energy! Whatever short term benefits for TVA (management and share holders) might be achieved are not conducive to the long term well being of its customers!

TVA should be a leader and not a laggard in the transition away from fossil fuels to renewable cleaner energy. Quit coal and build more solar, wind and hydro power.

I urge you to oppose any project related to fossil fuels and put forth the effort toward renewables. We have plenty of fossil fuel entities to maintain our supply of energy as we work to transition toward renewable energy. negative J.

Appalachian Voices Public Scoping Comment Letter Building out the huge wind resources of the Mid-Atlantic Bight, the east coast’s wide continental shelf, will create a large and integrated industry. Running 600 miles across nine states the Bight could produce the equivalent of 70% of America’s current electricity. Its low water depth and proximity to the populous East Coast is a perfect place for offshore wind. In addition, offshore wind is the strongest at the time of the most electricity demand. Building more gas is an idea that should be replaced. negative Jane Twitmyer 22967

I am asking you under the full weight of the future of this nation that you do not further the collapse of an already crumbling ecosystem by cutting down one more tree in the name of fossil fuels. The time has long come to sever ties with this overt and disastrous pollution, a complete abomination to the God who has so graciously gifted us this beautiful Earth on which we live. Please do not forget we were only given one precious planet. May your grandchildren breathe clean air, eat abundant and unspoiled fish from the rivers, and steward the old growth forests of ancient Appalachia with the same fervor you protect her with today when you stand firmly against this blatant attempt at exploitation of all we hold dear. May you rest easy in your bed at night knowing you loved the ground under your feet in a way that will protect your family and mine too. Thank you for reading. negative Kelsey Tucker 37160

Your state needs to move away from coal plants and replace them with renewable energy sources like wind and solar. Thank you for your time.

We are in an existential climate crisis, Code Red for humanity. We must stop building fossil fuel infrastructure and rapidly transition to clean, sustainable energy sources. The technologies exist, but we still seem to lack the political will. The Climate Clock is ticking. negative Rod Tharp 98506

As a TN resident nearby the proposed pipelines, I totally oppose these proposals. I know the negative impact this will have on our wildlife, water quality, and more. This is a very disappointing move from those who I expect to be putting more renewable energy sources in, and using fewer fossil fuels. Please halt these pipeline projects. The local communities are definitely opposed to these moves. negative Kevin Sykes 37115
