Topical Updates – Safety: Protections and Assurances
How would TVA mitigate impacts and risks to my community and environment?
One of TVA’s core values is safety--we are uncompromising in our commitment to the safety and well-being of our teammates and the communities we serve. We adhere to this principle for all of our work and decision-making. This includes adhering to applicable fire, electrical, and safety codes and ongoing testing of equipment such as relays detecting electrical abnormalities before broader impacts occur. Impacts and risks mitigation specific to the proposed site will be included in the EIS. In general, TVA would implement minimization and mitigation measures in relation to resources potentially affected by the project, including water resources, air quality, and public and occupational health and safety. These would be developed in consideration of Best Management Practices, permit requirements, and adherence to erosion and sediment control plans. Additional detail and considerations are provided in the public scoping report- tva-azr-eastus-cdn-ep-tvawcm- prd.azureedge.net/cdn-tvawcma/docs/default-source/environment/environmental- stewardship/nepa-environmental-reviews/scoping-report-november- 2023.pdf?sfvrsn=179b97e2_3.
