REVIEWS

The show is phenomenal. I love the colors. I love the scale. And the fact that it is silk its my favorite fabric. I am a huge scarf person.

Working with Stephen Shooster was an experience that constantly kept me on my toes—in the best way possible. His infectious zest for learning and relentless drive to grow and evolve professionally created an envi- ronment that was both challenging and inspiring. He brings energy and curiosity to every interaction, pushing those around him to think bigger and do better.

What I have learned is that most people are not particually atturned to bugs, but they can explore a whole new world when seeing them in a dif- ferent way, through the eyes of an artist, of a scientist, just melding it all together. People often come into the musuem and they are looking at things very quickly. They are trying to see all the different galleries. Getting them to stop and to look longer, to truely appreciate is the trick of being a volun- teer. and to find a quesiton to ask that will intrigue them enought to get them to stop is part of hte joy that I have as a volunetter. It depends on the person who is looking. For instance a gentelman came in today and spoke about his microscope. Othertimes it might have to do with computer graphics and for the kids, they are almost always a little bit interested in bugs.

In my observation, Stephen never stops looking forward and finding connections. He is venturing down a path of new ideas at warp speed. The family is nodding. They know their dad. They know, working with Ste- phen, it was a little bit like trying to fly a colorful kite during a typhoon. It’s a wild ride.
