CA RISE
Economic Mobility
The California Regional Initiative for Social Enterprise (CA RISE) was created in 2021 to accelerate economic mobility and inclusion for individuals that experience employment barriers. This $25M investment in the capital and capacity for employment social enterprises is the first program of its kind in the nation. This August we celebrated the new cohort of 61 ESEs (employment social enterprises) selected for CA RISE through a competitive grant process. Each ESE received between $100K - $500K to support investments related to sustainable growth of their business, and increased economic mobility among their participant employees.
Sustainable Growth
All CA RISE ESEs will gain access to: One on One customized technical assistance Capacity building support Tools & learning modules Assistance enrolling in more programs ESE’s contribute to growth and mobility by employing, training and supporting talented Californians overcoming barriers to employment. The individuals employed by ESEs will experience improved economic outcomes, measured by income, credentials, apprenticeships and other opportunities to reach mobility and growth.
