Central Washington University Board of Trustees October 20, 2023 ACTION – Fiscal Year 2024 Corrected Athletic Budget Approval
Since 2018, state law has required governing boards of Washington institutions of Higher Education to approve in an open public meeting the annual budget for intercollegiate athletics (SSB 6493) in advance of any expenditure for that fiscal year. The board also must approve in advance any expenditure exceeding $250,000 that is not already in the approved annual budget. Subsequent to the Board’s approval of the 2024 Athletics budget, an error in the calculation of tuition waivers was discovered. This amounts to $252,000 or almost 4% of the athletics budget so we are requesting approval of the corrected amount.
The following is an updated summary of the FY24 CWU intercollegiate athletics budget:
