Troon Friends farewell after 40 years fundraising

By Claire Stuart-Paulin, Senior Fundraiser (Community) Earlier this year, the Ayrshire Hospice Fundraising Team wished volunteer Barbara Houston a very happy retirement as she stepped down from 35 years’ service to the Hospice. Barbara has been a huge supporter of the Hospice over the years and has worn many hats over those four decades. She was the Cumnock Shop Manager when it first opened, the convenor of the New Cumnock Friends Group and the local collection can co-ordinator for the area. Barbara had been supporting the Fundraising Team and she will be greatly missed but, true to form, she will still be helping out on occasion in the Cumnock shop. Thank you, Barbara, for all your hard work, drive and passion over the years, and enjoy your retirement! A fond farewell to a lovely volunteer
