A cookbook launched by the chef at Prestwick Golf Club has raised an incredible £13,365 for two local charities.

Among the dishes featured are Surf & Moor, Lobster Thermidor and Pimms Cheesecake. There are also chapters outlining the incredible history of dining since Prestwick Golf Club was established in 1851. Graeme Strawhorn, Assistant Fundraising Manager, said: “We are overjoyed at the tremendous success of this very special recipe book. We appreciate all the hard work and time dedicated to organising and promoting this book, it means so much to our charity. Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen.”

'Dame for a Laugh' with Auntie Effie. Both events were extremely successful and raised over £500 each. Everyone at Ayrshire Hospice wishes the students at Ayrshire College well for their future studies and hopes they gained some valuable experience from their fundraisers.

The Ayrshire Hospice is always grateful to the students of our local schools and colleges for their continued support every year. This summer, the Hospice had not one, but two classes from Ayrshire College’s Ayr Campus fundraise with two very different events. The Sport and Fitness Department held a sponsored walk and the HND Travel & Tourism class organised a karaoke, games and cabaret night called
