Overall purpose of job
The position is accountable to the Director of Estates and Facilities at St George’s University of London and has responsibility in delivering the operational services of the university estate.
Responsible for the management and delivery of the University's capital investment programme from business case to project completion, which includes funded projects to expand and provide high quality teaching and research environments. Responsible for the management and delivery of the maintenance contracts and utility services within the university site. Take the lead in ensuring that all buildings conform to statutory compliance legislation. Responsible for the control and management of the estates budgets. Line management responsibilities for Project Managers, Maintenance Manager, Project and Space Manager and Estates Support Manager. To assist and support the estates staff on all estate related matters when necessary. Assist in the development of the estates strategy including ensuring we have a robust development control plan in place for our main site which makes the most effective use of space across the University; Look to further improve our commercial opportunities for the benefit of our staff and students as well as ensure that across both the Trust and University we are contracting and delivering our facilities services in a way which drives improvements and efficiencies.
