SUCCESS STORIES IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Ali Banholzer Exactly. And your staff gets accustomed to it, you have that continual improvement; it becomes exponential. And when you bring in a new process, or a new piece of equipment, you start at a really good place. And it’s not as expensive to bring that in. Marshall Atkinson Alright, to wind this up, I got one last question I just thought of. Here’s a question for you. So I think you can really tell if the culture of continuous improvement happens when the line worker, you know, your general employees on his way to work, and he thinks is some incredible idea and he comes in, he goes, “Ali, I know exactly what to do. If we do this, we can save X!” Have you had that happen to you? Ali Banholzer Kind of… not the exact scenario, but we do a daily huddle, about 10 minutes. And every day in there is that opportunity for “Hey, is what’s broken, what needs to be fixed, and it gets put on the list.” And then there’s a process that you can do with the priority matrix and all of that, but that we don’t have time for today. But so yes, they are constantly bringing ideas, it’s not me having to pinpoint it. And I have, you know, well, we have customers coming to us, “Hey, can you do this?” And my natural instinct is always to say, “Yep, we can do that.” Sometimes I jump into the deep end of the pool and I don’t know how to swim yet. Most recently was fat heads. We had a high school that said, “Hey, can you make us Fat Heads? We want to put all of our seniors in the stands because we can’t have all the fans and all in the student section. So can you make us Fat Heads go up in the stands?” And I’m like, “Sure we can do that.” And then we went, “Oh, crap. How are we going to do that?” So so we came up with one way of doing it, but my staff had had complete authority, freedom, whatever you want to call it to come to me and say, “Yep, that’s not working so well. Can we try it this way? Can we do this?”, “Sure. Tell me how and why. Okay, great. Run with it.”, “Why is that going to be better? How’s it gonna save us? Yep. Okay, that’s great, run with it.” And they did, and we produce a lot of Fat Heads. And we have the process down to a science now, we’ve controlled it. And now when the next high school time session says we want fat heads, we’re like, “Alright, let’s go.” Marshall Atkinson Alright, that’s excellent. So Ali, thank you so much for sharing your story of success with us today. If someone wants to learn more about what you do, or how you can help them, what is the best way to contact you?
