Braemar Finance step up to volunteer
The Ayrshire Hospice was delighted to welcome Darryll Slavin as the Retail Warehouse Manager in May this year. Darryll comes from a retail background with warehouse experience, and despite not having worked in the retail charity sector before, he is thriving in this new role and learning more every day. His impact is already visible as he has started to implement some exciting changes in the warehouse. He has categorised the stock, making it accessible for all staff and volunteers, and created additional space for the donations we receive. These changes have been implemented to help increase the income the shop raises by streamlining the process of getting donations onto the shop floor of the ten Ayrshire Hospice shops in the region. Sustainable Summer Shopping From Sunglasses to Cocktail Glasses!
During Volunteers’ Week in June, the Ayrshire Hospice welcomed 37 kind and enthusiastic volunteers from Braemar Finance to its Ayr shop and warehouse. The volunteers helped our team with a variety of tasks. Whether it was painting walls, a spot of gardening, processing all our fabulous donations, or taking inventory of our stock, no job was too big for this generous team. Thank you to all the Braemar Finance volunteers - we are already planning for next year! Corporate volunteering has proven to boost employees’ happiness, increase engagement, enhance work ethic, and help with team building.
