Here Come the Girls The Ayrshire Hospice hosted its first-ever Ladies Day event on Friday, 8th March, International Ladies Day, which saw 180 women coming together in the fabulous surroundings of the Marine Troon.

The countdown to reveal the winner of the Ayrshire Hospice calendar competition edges ever closer as the final 12 images
professional photographer Amy Brennan, and Fred Harryman of the Ayrshire Hospice, who is also a very keen amateur photographer. The final 12 pictures were then shown to patients at the Ayrshire Hospice Living Well Hubs, who selected their favourite image, leaving one shot with the most votes. Over the coming weeks, the final 12 entrants will be notified of their photograph’s success. The winning entrant will receive a £150 voucher to spend at Vennal Cameras and an exclusive first look at their photograph on the front cover of the 2025 calendar.
Tea or browsing the selection of boutique stalls before the main event of the day when the all-star panel took to the stage. TV personalities Jennifer Reoch, Carol Smillie, Jane McCarry, and Jackie Brambles entertained the audience, sharing stories from the stage as the packed room was captivated. Ayrshire Hospice Chief Executive, Tracy Flynn, welcomed everyone to the Ladies Day event, paying tribute to the women who work for the organisation and who show their strength every day by supporting and caring for patients and their families during their most difficult times. After hearing from the special guest panel, guests were then treated to a surprise performance by The MacDonald Brothers, completing the afternoon. The Ayrshire Hospice Ladies Day event will return in 2025.

Over 460 entries were received for this year’s competition, themed ‘Ayrshire through the Seasons’, and judges had a very tough decision choosing the best 12 to be used in the Ayrshire Hospice 2025 calendar. Celebrating the Service of Our Lottery Collectors

We recently gathered with our lottery collectors and canvassers to thank them for their continued support and update them on exciting developments at the Hospice.
A quick calculation revealed that those present had clocked up an amazing 169 years of service to the Hospice lottery! They also enjoyed a short talk from Chris Rodden, Director of Patient and Family Services, who spoke about the impact of their fundraising on patient care. Anne Campbell, an Ayrshire Hospice Lottery Collector, shared: “I became a Hospice Lottery
collector in 2010 after a friend, who

was also a collector, recommended it. Having retired the previous year, I wanted to give back to the Hospice, where my dear mother-in-law received wonderful care in her last days.”
