‘Stepping’ out for the Hospice

Santa is looking forward to visiting Ayr Central for the Ayrshire Hospice Santa’s Grotto this festive season. The grotto will be open over four weekends throughout November and Sun 11th Dec: 12-3pm Fri 16th Dec: 12-3pm
Two fantastic fundraisers and their supporters have been getting their steps in to raise money for the Ayrshire
Hospice recently. Supporter Gemma Riekie previously took part in 'The Trek' - an annual Hospice event of years gone by where participants fundraised for the Hospice by trekking around Millport. Gemma missed the event so much that she made the decision last year to organise her own and raised a fantastic £1,295 ! This year, alongside 33 friends and family, Gemma organised her Trek again - a poignant event as her gran, Roberta, is currently using Hospice services - and raised a phenomenal £2,882 !

There are so many benefits to joining a choir and singing can improve your sense of happiness and well-being. Staff who are attending the choir already feel the benefit of this as they perform as wide selection of songs. You can attend their first performance
A musical bunch of staff has formed an Ayrshire Hospice Choir…and are already looking forward to their first performance.

As one of the Charge Nurses in the In-Patient Unit, Nicola wanted to start a Hospice choir so patients, their families and the Ayrshire
space for staff to have fun with colleagues, and also a great fundraising opportunity.
