Lent Brochure 2025 SPECIAL EDITION CATALOG
Lent is a period of reflection, prayer, and self-examination before Easter, serving as a time to prepare for celebrating Jesus' resurrection by focusing on repentance, considering one’s own shortcomings, and meditating on Christ's suffering and sacrifice.
Ash Wednesday March 5, 2025 Services at 12PM & 7PM
Ash Wednesday is the traditional beginning of the season of Lent. It involves a worship service with times of confessional prayer and the imposition of ashes. Ashes have long been a symbol of repentance, sorrow, and sacrifice. We remember that we come from dust and to dust we shall return; yet this life journey is both known by God and redeemed by the love of Christ.
Palm Sunday is a day of drama and paradox - of a crowd gathering to shout "Hosanna" (Hebrew for "Save us"), wanting to crown Jesus as king, but who later will call for this same king to be crucified outside the city walls. The triumphal entry into Jerusalem was celebrated with waving palm branches as Jesus entered humbly on a donkey. Palm Sunday April 13, 2025 Donkey Procession meet at Sunrise 9:15AM

Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2025 Service at 7:30PM
Maundy Thursday begins the Three Days (or Triduum), remembering the new commandment that Christ gave us in word and deed as he taught us how to love one another, washing our feet as a servant. We also celebrate the Lord's Supper, remembering the meal Christ shared with his disciples before his death. .
Good Friday, April 18, 2025 Service at 7:30PM The Good Friday service moves the story of the last days of Jesus' earthly life forward from the early morning hours when Jesus was condemned to be crucified to the dark early evening hours when Jesus died on the cross and was laid in a borrowed tomb. The last words Jesus spoke from the cross will be remembered.

Woods church will be presenting the musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame . What makes a monster and what makes a man? Step into the heart of Paris and experience the powerful tale of “ The Hunchback of Notre Dame ." This evocative musical, inspired by Victor Hugo’s classic novel and the acclaimed Disney animated film, brings to life the story of love, acceptance, and heroism set against the backdrop of the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral. Join us as we follow Quasimodo, the gentle bell-ringer of Notre Dame, and his journey to find acceptance and love in a world that shuns him. Alongside the courageous Esmeralda and the conflicted Claude Frollo, the story unfolds with themes of compassion, justice, the resilience of the human spirit and finding your sanctuary. Disclaimer - This show is rated PG-13 for intense situations and thematic elements. While there are elements from the Disney film in the musical, and we have children in the cast, we want to stress that this is NOT a show for kids.
