increases our moment- to-moment awareness and allows us to control potentially harmful emotional reactions. Training in meditation and mindfulness has shown to bring many health benefits including lowered blood pressure, positive effects on immunity, better sleep, resilience to stress and enhanced wellbeing. The Wednesday Afternoon Mindfulness sessions I run with patients and staff introduce practices that we can use to help us take control and deal with the stress and challenges of our daily lives more calmly and patiently. I enjoy being part of an organisation that is dedicated to helping people in the last stages of their lives. I am a retired veterinary surgeon who has conducted mindfulness classes for Ayrshire Hospice outpatients for the last eight years. The classes allow patients to use their inner resources to help them deal with their illness.
I would also be delighted if you would join us at our Virtual Light Up a Life Christmas Concert on Sunday 28th November at 7.15pm. We’ll be joined by a variety of musical treats featuring choirs, group and vocalists who together, offer an uplifting celebration of local voices and music.

Well, I was introduced to it while as I was working and went from there. I studied meditation and mindfulness in 2005 and then began to host classes throughout
These classes would take place in person normally but over the last period of time I have been hosting them virtually to support the hospice and its patients.
