Hole in One!
Showcasing the work of the hospice across national platforms

Healthcare peers from across the UK have been recognising the industry-leading work of Ayrshire Hospice staff on how to adapt and improve hospice services. Specialist Palliative Care
saw us present two submissions at the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care (SPPC) conference, before presenting five projects at the Hospice UK Conference in November. The posters highlight work in a variety of areas, ranging from complementary therapies to how we have responded to and adapted during the pandemic.
A huge thank you to all our teams who joined us at The West Kilbride Golf Club for our annual Golf Day on 9th August. We had 32 teams taking part and it was a wonderful day in the glorious sunshine overlooking the Firth of Clyde & Arran, raising £17,500 to support us delivering care and services in the community. Pharmacist, Karen Menzies, captured her involvement to improve palliative care services and capacity within community pharmacies with a submission to a NHS Scotland event. Karen, who led the project, stressed the importance of including pharmacists at GP Practice Multi-Disciplinary Team palliative care meetings. Ayrshire Hospice also delivered palliative care training to Ayrshire’s Allied Health Professionals. Heather Hardie, Senior Physiotherapist, at the Nursing Midwife Allied
