Lockdown poem Suzanne Kerr , Clinical Administrator If I had had a crystal ball, Would I have seen how we would fall Would I have seen the whole world stop And people racing to the shop Would I have washed my hands so much To avoid a virus passed by touch Would I have seen the hand gel sell The lack of loo roll and flour as well Would I have known you couldn’t go out And on a Thursday you’d wave and shout Would I have thought I’d wash my shopping And avoid the people when out walking
Would I have known one walk a day To save people’s lives, there’s no other way Would I have guessed you’d stay at home No work allowed, or work alone
Would I have seen on my TV My favourite band, at home, perform for me Would I have thought myself essential
To bravely work when it felt mental Would I have then surprised myself To enjoy that time, my family, my health To feel a part of a big team At home, and work, that’s what I mean X Bloomin’ lovely to see you By Nick Grinter, Facilities Manager It’s been a very welcoming sight to see some of fantastic volunteers back at the hospice over recent months.
We’ve been able to bring back the garden team at the end of August, who have been able to give some much needed TLC to the hospice grounds. Working under strict covid precautions of one volunteer per day the team have been working hard on weeding, pruning, leaf collection and mowing. Welcome back, team!
Phil Dalgleish, garden volunteer
