Leave a Gift of a Lifetime
Remembering with Forget-Me-Nots this Father’s Day
By Lucy Glendinning, Senior Fundraiser
Our beautiful steel Forget-Me- Nots are carefully handmade by Morrell’s Forge Blacksmith in Kirkoswald. They make for a lasting and positive way to remember someone special this Father’s Day, all while helping the Ayrshire Hospice provide essential palliative and end of life care to patients and their families across Ayrshire and Arran. After the success of the Forget- Me-Not trail along Miller Road, Ayr, for Mother’s Day, we are excited to plant it again in the run-up to Father’s Day on the 18th of June. The flowers will add some colour
to Miller Road, while shining a light on much loved dads, papas, uncles and friends touched by Hospice care.

Gifts in Wills are vital to the Ayrshire Hospice and have enabled us to help more people and their families get the care they require. One in three patients is cared for thanks to gifts in Wills. Leaving just 1% of your estate to the Ayrshire Hospice makes a real difference to our patients and their families, all while making sure your own family and loved ones are cared for too. By remembering the Ayrshire Hospice in your Will, your legacy will be much more than just giving a donation. You’ll be giving care and support to our patients and their families for generations to come. It means that years from now, the Hospice will be here to help those in need of care and support when it matters most. 2022 raises £20k
February marks one year for the Saltcoats shop
Retail team
By Claire Stuart-Paulin, Senior Fundraiser
On the last weekend in February, the Ayrshire Hospice celebrated one year since re-opening its much-loved shop in Saltcoats with a fantastic weekend of fun activities. After closing in 2019, the decision was taken to reopen in the North Ayrshire town in 2022 to give the Ayrshire Hospice a presence in the local community once again. It was a packed weekend of celebrations with a Teddy Bear Trail in-store and in surrounding shops in the town, together with plenty of opportunities to learn more about the Hospice and how to volunteer with the organisation, as well as the usual birthday cake and refreshments.
Purple wigs, purple ties, purple cakes - last year’s Go Purple Day was a fantastic, fun- filled, purple day that had it all! The Ayrshire Hospice is delighted to announce it raised over £20,000 from so many people who came together to fundraise in many different ways, from dress-down days in our schools to gift-wrapping services in our shops, and of course, the good old faithful coffee morning. They all had one thing in common, to make a difference, and that they did. Thank you to everyone who got involved it was a tremendous amount raised. Go Purple 2023 will take place on Friday 13th October – contact community@ayrshirehospice.org to register your interest.
