Take full control of the plant “Production Facility Cleaning” is the name of the game, with cleaning programs that cover all controlled areas in the production plant. And to do this successfully, a total contamination control approach must be applied. All surfaces, all units, all areas must be covered in a specific cleaning quality program.
THE CLEANROOM (ISO 4-6) 1
THE PERSONNEL ENTRANCE/ GOWNING ROOM (ISO 6-8) 2
Production area. Validated and contamination controlled on air, surfaces and personnel.
Gowning area to eliminate personnel as potential source of contamination before entering production area. Set the contamination pick up by cleaning as close to zero as possible, already in this area.
What is the type of contamination you need to remove? Spills, grease particles or even visible dirt? Are you reaching your contamination goals? CFU’s, particle counts, etc? Do you have external validation material on all your cleaning utensils? Including particle reports for mops? Are your cleaning textiles (mops/wipes) collecting/ removing contamination from the surface? Can you control contamination between/within the cleanroom? How often do your operators change solutions and mops? Is total cost-in-use of your cleaning program an area where you would like to improve? Are your staff annually educated/trained in how to execute the cleaning method?
Can you easily carry solutions in and out of the gowning area? Do you have space to fill buckets? Can you bring in trolleys and is there enough space? Can you reach underneath equipment?

ERGONOMICAL ASPECTS
1
2
3
Do you have one system for floor, wall and ceiling cleaning, or even for all controlled environments?
How often are your operators dipping and wringing per task or per cleanroom?
Do they have lightweight telescopic handles to perform wall/ceiling cleaning?
THE MANUFACTURING AREA (ISO 8-9) 3
THE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT AROUND
Controlled Environment areas including the entrance zone. Surrounding environments impact the cleanliness of the cleanroom – proper surroundings with established protocols can prevent up to 80% of contaminants entering the cleanroom. Have you validated your current cleaning system to act as a barrier for your cleanroom? Are you able to clean with the same method/tools within other executions, allowing ease of use for the operators? What’s your cleaning cost per m 2 for this area?

ISO INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR STANDARDIZATION
Cleanrooms are classified according to the cleanliness level of the air inside them. The awarded cleanroom class is the level of cleanliness the room complies with, according to the quantity and size of particles per volume of air.
The primary authority in the US and Canada is the ISO classification system ISO 14644-1.
This standard includes the cleanroom classes ISO 1, ISO 2, ISO 3, ISO 4, ISO 5, ISO 6, ISO 7, ISO 8 and ISO 9, with ISO 1 being the “cleanest” and ISO 9 the “dirtiest” class (but still cleaner than a regular room). The most common classes are ISO 7 and ISO 8. The old Federal Standard 209 (class 100,000; 10,000; 1,000; 100; 10; 1) was withdrawn in 2001 and officially replaced by ISO-14644-1 in 1999, but it is still widely used in the controlled environment industry. In addition, cleanrooms must also comply with industry- specific and regional standards. For example, EU GGMP (A-B-C-D) applies to pharmaceutical products and USP (795, 797 and 800) in regard to compounding pharmacies.

GMP GOOD MANUFACTURING GUIDELINES GMP ANNEX 1 - CLEANING & DISINFECTION Mechanical cleaning programs should be effective in the removal of surface particles and residual disinfectant residues. Disinfectants and detergents should be regularly monitored for microbial contamination. Disinfection dilutions should be kept in clean containers and should only be stored for defined periods determined by the manufacturer. The disinfection of clean areas is particularly important. They should be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly in accordance with a formal contamination control program. For disinfection to be effective, mechanical cleaning to remove surface contamination must be performed first. GMP ANNEX 1 - EQUIPMENT The cleaning process should be validated to demonstrate that it; Can remove residues that would otherwise create a barrier between the sterilizing agent and the equipment surfaces Prevents chemical and particulate contamination of the product during the process and prior to disinfection. All critical surfaces that come into direct contact with sterile materials should be sterile We understand the challenges within the different standards and classifications required. Our systems and solutions have been designed to fulfill these challenges. To ensure standardized high quality results every time, we work according to international standards. As your cleaning partner, we must also follow compliance .

ESD ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is the sudden flow of electricity between two electrically charged objects caused by contact, an electrical short, or dielectric breakdown. A buildup of static electricity can be caused by turbo charging or by electrostatic induction. The ESD occurs when differently-charged objects are brought close together or when the dielectric between them breaks down, often creating a visible spark. ESD can cause harmful effects of importance in industry, including explosions in gas, fuel vapor and coal dust, as well as failure of solid-state electronics components such as integrated circuits. These can suffer permanent damage when subjected to high voltages. Electronics manufacturers therefore establish electrostatic protective areas free of static, using measures to prevent charging, such as avoiding highly charging materials and measures to remove static such as grounding human workers, providing antistatic devices, and controlling humidity.

Remove contaminants with one wipe WHAT IS IT? The unique microfibre construction of EvoControl™ allows for a high contact area of ‘wipe to surface’ for superior cleaning results.
EvoControl™ efficiency has been tested by an independent institute proving a 99.99% bacterial removal from surfaces, without the use of disinfectants. The key is the unique and patented Evolon® microfibre material. This technology is only available in Vileda Professional CE wipers. It allows you to save time, money and lessens ergonomic stress on the end-user. The balance between liquid absorbency and release to the surface is ideal for applying a thin film of liquid disinfectant to surfaces in cleanroom areas.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? The magic is the material! EvoControl™ wipes are
manufactured from Evolon® fabric, utilizing a patented fully inline production process. EvoControl™ is a next generation microfibre cloth manufactured from endless microfibres measuring 0.15 dtex;
10 times finer than standard polyester microfibres 100 times finer than a human hair
EvoControl™ wipes have been developed and designed with ‘homogeneous’ liquid retention properties.
This unique fabric combines high absorption properties with high textile tensile strength delivering an outstanding mechanical cleaning action. HOW DOES IT BENEFIT THE END-USER? Effortlessly wipe away spills and remove particles from surfaces using the ‘one step’ movement. EvoControl™ absorbs liquids easily without leaving residues, and has significantly low particle release properties v’s standard polyester wipers.
This means the wipe holds the right amount of liquid in the material. EvoControl™ is the perfect solution for optimum disinfectant laydown to surfaces. These unique wipes distribute solution readily and evenly to the surface in question, and as a result achieving desired and critical surface disinfection contact times.

Time to get your cleanroom prepared, pre-prepared
VILEDA PROFESSIONAL PRE-PREPARATION METHOD
No dipping No dripping No rinsing or pressing No wasting of water or disinfectant
All cleanroom areas have varying requirements and with best-in-class cleaning methods we can guarantee you a perfect result. The ‘pre-preparation’ method developed by Vileda Professional is well tested and validated. It has been used for many years by some of the biggest players in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry around the globe. The pre-preparation method allows mops to remove contamination dosed with the exact amount of disinfectants. No mess, no waste, no fuss. PREPARE YOUR MOPS & GET A PERFECT RESULT Preparing and pre-dosing of the required number of mops before starting to clean will ensure your mops are pre-moistened to an optimum level and ready to use. Pre-dosed mops offer huge advantages;
The intuitive operation allows the cleaning operative to simply replace the mop without touching once used and continue cleaning or disinfecting.
CONTINUOUS TRAINING – A PART OF OUR OFFER
On site training and tailor-made education is part of our full concept offer, allowing you to deliver a next level clean for your facility. This process is designed with your Q&A and cleaning staff in mind. The unique pre-preparation method developed by Vileda Professional offers a safe and environmentally friendly dosing method for your facility.
27
The most efficient, effective mopping system invented by Vileda Professional Pre-prepared mopping refers to a process or method where the mopping solution and mop pads are dosed in advance and stored, making them readily available for use whenever needed. This can involve mixing a cleaning solution, such as water and specific chemical then dosing the mops in a pre-preparation box, sealing it until the mops are needed.
The idea behind pre-prepared mopping is to save time and effort by having mops dosed, ready to go. You don’t have to mix and dose mops every time you want to clean the floor, typically where there’s a need to clean large areas quickly and efficiently.
If you invest in a durable pre-prepared mopping system, you could drastically reduce your opportunity cost spend over time. To use a pre-prepared mopping solution, you would typically follow the process below: DOSE the relevant cleaning chemical / solution: Do this according to the manufacturer‘s instructions POUR the solution evenly over the mops using a sieve: Your mops should already be in a pre-preparation mop box container SEAL the mop box: Once fully dosed, this is to prevent evaporation and cross-contamination WAIT the recommended dosage time / guidelines: This allows the pre-dosed mops to be fully impregnated before use When it‘s time to mop the floors, simply reach for the pre-preparation mop box, attach a mop head to your frame, and start mopping. A point to note some cleaning chemicals may have a limited shelf life, so it‘s important to follow storage guidelines provided by the manufacturer. This ensures the solution remains effective and safe to use.

MOP PREPARATION, EASY AS 1, 2, 3
1
2
Mops are placed in a pre-box and pre-dosed with water and chemicals.
3
4
Mops are left in pre-box for 5-10 minutes to absorb the cleaning or disinfectant solution and then placed on the trolley.
5
6
7
When the operator enters the room / area to be cleaned, a clean mop is taken from the pre-box and placed onto the frame. Directly after, cleaning of the ceiling / wall / floor begins.
8

Minimise cross- contamination risks across your facility
Using a pre-prepared system is the most convenient and efficacious method to achieve a controlled cleaning SOP. By changing to a clean mop pad for every room or area, you mitigate the risk of cross-contamination risk in your facility.
All mop pads are dosed to an optimum pre-saturation level achieved by following detailed pre-preparation methods. Simply fold and insert the mops into a pre-preparation box, then dose and mop The benefit, no more heavy buckets or trolleys with chemicals or disinfectants travelling through your cleanroom facility Identifying one holistic mopping system for cleaning your floors, walls and ceilings, you will benefit from a rigid, standardised cleaning process and protocol The additional benefit is the equipment and associated cleaning materials are prepared with your own validated chemicals and disinfectants.

Mopping Bucket & Press Systems
42
Traditional mopping, made super easy Bucket and press mopping is a cleaning technique commonly used to clean and sanitize floors. It involves the use of a mop, a bucket or double bucket system filled with water, cleaning solution and a mop wringer or press mechanism.
The term “press” specifically refers to the action of using a mop with a press or wringer mechanism to remove excess liquid from the mop head before mopping the floor. This helps to control the amount of moisture on the floor and prevent over-saturation.
Here’s how the process typically works:
Prepare the Cleaning Solution: Fill a bucket with water and add an appropriate amount of a cleaning chemical
Rinse and Repeat: As the mop head becomes soiled or dirty, rinse it out in the bucket, and then re-dip it into the cleaning solution. Repeat the mopping process until you have covered the entire floor area Empty and Refill the Bucket: If the cleaning solution becomes too dirty during the process, empty the bucket, rinse it out, and refill it with clean water and a fresh cleaning solution. A double bucket system can also be used here in this process
Dip the Mop: Immerse the mop head into the cleaning solution in the bucket. Allow the mop to soak up the solution, ensuring that it is thoroughly saturated Wring Out Excess Liquid: Depending on the type of mop you are using, there are different ways to wring out excess liquid Mop the Floor: Begin mopping the floor in a methodical pattern using overlapping strokes. Start from one end of the room and work your way towards the exit
Finish and Dry: Once you have finished mopping the entire area, allow the floor to air dry
