Consumables Transitioning to Alternative Materials
Packaging from Renewable Resources
These include products that are widely recyclable or compostable, in line with national recycling and composting guidelines, and are crafted from renewable resources. Examples include materials such as bamboo, palm leaf, and sugar cane, as well as other bio-based options. Additionally, products designed for reuse, such as 'bags for life,' refillable coffee cups, and containers made from sustainable alternatives, are part of this category. These products are not only eco-friendly but also contribute to reducing reliance on single-use plastics and support the transition towards a more circular economy.
Plastic products subject to regulatory measures and legislation that control their use, such as the charge for plastic bags (e.g., carrier bags, fresh produce bags, coffee cups, cold drink cups). Carrier bags, cold cups, and cutlery are moving from plastic to bio-based or recyclable materials.
