Analyzing Job Fit
Suggested Strategy: In this scenario, you are working with someone that
is analyzing the fit of an individual on their team. Help them develop the
questions they should ask by using Whiteboard Coaching.
Suggested Questions:
→ Rating Question: On a scale of one to six, with six representing that
you have a complete understanding of their employee’s fit in their
position and one representing that you aren’t sure at all of their fit into
their position, where would you rate yourself and why?
→ Self-Actualized Question: What actions do you think you must take to
effectively evaluate a person’s fit for their job?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down
how the individual would describe their current strategy for evaluating a
team member’s fit in their position. On the right side of the board, write
down how they would describe what they think would be the ideal
evaluation for this scenario. Then, erase the left side of the board and
work with the individual to draft questions to ask their team members to
evaluate their fit in their position so that they have a strategy in place in
the future.
