Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Tangible Successes: As employee to come back to your next
coaching session with five examples of effective dealer communication
based on the definition from the beginning of your coaching
conversation. What was the strategy taken by the individual to put that
definition into practice in each of those situations, and what was the
outcome?
→ Observational Coaching: Ask the individual to observe their peers as
they communicate with dealers. What takeaways from their
observations can the individual put into practice in their own dealer
communication?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Upon observing the person you are coaching
make a positive effort to utilize the definition of effective communication
with dealers as defined at the start of your coaching session, leave them
a hand-written note. Be specific in sharing the observed actions taken
by the individual and share with them why their actions are appreciated.
→ Journal-Based Coaching: Assign the employee to keep a journal as
they adjust their strategy for effectively communicating with dealers,
noting situations where they felt as though they were successful, as well
as situations where they may have begun to stray from the definition
discussed at the start of your coaching session. Ask them to keep the
journal entries to track the outcomes of their communication with dealers
and their level of confidence in their interactions.
