Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Tangible Successes: Assign your coaching target to come back to

your next coaching session with five examples of successful voicemails

left for clients or prospects during the week where they followed the

general flow of the outline you created together earlier. Did they receive

a response from the individual they left the voicemail for? Was the client

or prospect prepared for their call with the information that was left for

them in the individual’s voicemail?

→ Journal-Based Coaching: Assign the individual you are coaching to

keep a journal as they go through the process of improving their

voicemail technique. Ask them to track their level of success in getting

clients and prospects to call them back after leaving voicemails. They

should also keep track of their challenges as they leave voicemails for

clients and prospects and how they might address those challenges in

the future.

Supplemental Coaching Strategies:

→ 30-Second Coaching: When you have the opportunity

to observe a great voicemail left by your coaching

target or a positive outcome as a result of a voicemail

they left, share with them the efforts and specific

actions you observed that led to their success. Let

them know why their efforts are appreciated by you and

beneficial to their ability to connect with clients and

prospects more often!
