→ Observational Coaching: Ask the employee to observe their peers
throughout the coming week. What do their peers do well in practicing
professional communication? What do they think their peers might need
to improve upon? What impact does their professionalism have on their
interactions with others? What takeaways from their observations can
they put into practice in their own professional communication habits?
→ Self-Directed Learning: Assign the employee to read the book The 7
Habits of Highly Effective People , one chapter per week. At the end of
each week, have them email you with their takeaways from that week’s
chapter as they apply to professionalism in their communication – these
should be things that the employee can put into practice in their own
communication habits.
