Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down the
individual’s current strategy for addressing a question that they may not
know the answer to. On the right side of the board, brainstorm together
some new strategies that the individual can have in their arsenal as they
approach these situations in the future and compare each side to
discuss the potential outcomes for each side of the board, and how each
new strategy can contribute to future success.
→ Role Play: Have some tougher practice situations prepared that youcan
practice with your coaching target. Using their newly attained strategies,
have the individual practice addressing those situations without breaking
out of roles until after the conversation has ended. Discuss any
feedback you may have for them related to what they’ve done well, as
well as anything you think they may still want to work on.
