Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: Write on the left side of the board how they
think their peers would currently describe their confidence. Then on the
right side of the board, write down what they think ideal confidence looks
like. Erase the left side of the board and write down the steps necessary
to be more confident as described on the right side of theboard.
→ Role Play: Practice together some of the areas of concern on the left-
hand side of the board. Then, after role playing the scenario, discuss
what went well and what areas your coaching target can improve upon
in the future.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Journal-Based Coaching: Have your coaching target practice the
areas of concern that you discussed in the whiteboard activity and role
played together throughout the week in their daily activities. Have them
journal daily two successes and two challenges they encounter and
summarize their journal entries to you in an email at the end of the
week.
→ Self-Directed Learning: Either have the employee do this alone, or
with another team member that also needs to work on those skills. Peer
work allows comradery, as well as skill building techniques that may not
come to mind if the individual is working alone.
