Coaching Someone with More Experience

Suggested Strategy: Approach the conversation as though the individual

you are coaching can teach you some things that you may not know

about their position or about the company. This will help them let their

guard down as you share some insight with them.

Suggested Questions:

→ Teach Me: Your experience with the company is so valued, and I

wonder if you might have knowledge related to

(Whatever it is

you would like to coach them to improve) that you could teach me that I

may not know.

o This opens the door to having the

individual think about what they truly

know about that subject and the

information they maybe potentially

missing.

→ Self-Actualized Question: How do you think

you might be able to share your knowledge with

others while also continuing to build on the

success you have found in your position?
