Suggested Activities:

→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down

everything that the individual was able to teach you from the beginning

of the coaching session, and any other knowledge they may have. On

the right side of the board, discuss and write down things that the

individual did not talk about or that they may not know about. Then,

brainstorm together a strategy for incorporating the new information

theymay have just learned into their workday.

→ Perception vs. Intent: Have a conversation with the individual about

how they would like to be perceived by their peers as someone that has

been with the company for an extended period of time. What kind of

legacy do they dream of leaving behind as they near their retirement if

they are nearing that stage of their career?

Suggested Learning Projects:

→ Self-Directed Learning: Assign your coaching target to evaluate the

information that they learned from your Whiteboard Coaching activity

and track the places where the new information can be beneficial to their

job and in what ways they can benefit from it. How will they incorporate

this new information in their job to help them build a positive perception

of themselves as a senior member of the team? How can they also use

their knowledge as someone that has been with the company or in this

field for a long time to teach their peers and be a leader as the senior

member of the team?
