Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Observational Coaching: Have the person you are coaching observe
their peers throughout the coming week. Ask them to keep a running
journal entry of times where they observed a peer practicing confidence
in their actions. In the journal entry, they should also include the impact
that the actions of their peer in that situation had on the outcome. What
did their peer do well? What could they have improved upon? Discussat
your next coaching session.
→ Self-Directed Learning: Assign this employee to come back to your
next coaching session with five things that they are best at in their
position. Do these things help this person feel more confident? What
can they do to use these things to help them be confident in other parts
of their job?
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ 30-Second Coaching: Note instances where you observe this person
practicing confidence in their interactions. Take 30 seconds to verbally
acknowledge this person’s efforts to improve in their confidence and be
specific in your praise.
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Use the power of a handwritten card or note to
share your observations of your coaching target’s success in acting
confidently in ways they may not have before.
