→ Role Play: Practice the skills necessary to participate in professional
development settings in order to have the most success with confidence
building. Go over common scenarios, conversation tools they can use,
and follow through after to build upon the information they learn in those
professional development settings.
Suggested Learning Projects:
→ Journal-Based Coaching: Have the employee write down two useful
things they learned during the professional development opportunity that
they feel they can implement during their work week. Then, have them
summarize those journal entries at the end of the week with how they
implemented those skills.
Supplemental Coaching Strategies:
→ Non-Verbal Coaching: Leave your coaching target a hand-written note
on their desk when you observe them practicing the skills they sent you
in their weekly email. Make sure your note is specific and descriptive.
