Effective Delivery of Concerns to Others
Suggested Strategy: Using a Third- Party Question, set the individual’s
sights on the effect that their actions might have on others. Utilize
Whiteboard Coaching to help them build a strategy for a more effective
approach to expressing their concerns to others in the future.
Suggested Questions:
→ Third-Party Question: If we were to ask someone from another
discipline that you work with how they would describe your delivery of
your concerns or frustrations to others, what do you think they might say
and why?
→ Success Imperative: What actions do you think you must take to
successfully create an efficient strategy for expressing your concerns
and frustrations to others?
Suggested Activities:
→ Whiteboard Coaching: On the left side of a whiteboard, write down
how the individual thinks someone outside of the team would describe
their expression of their concerns to others. On the right side of the
board, ask them to define what the ideal description of what an
effective delivery of concerns might look like to others. Then, erase
the left side of the board and work with together to create a strategy
for them to take in their future interactions with others as they express
their concerns and frustrations in a way that others will find effective.
