Fact-Driven Conflict Resolution
Suggested Strategy: Clear the air by going back to the facts. When
opinions come into play, with that come unwarranted emotions. When it
comes to conflict, the more distance made the better. Help people
reframe how they phrase conflicting opinions by refocusing on bringing
facts into the picture.
Suggested Questions:
→ Risk Question: What risk do we assume when we bring opinions or
feelings into the conversation when it comes to conflict driven
communication?
→ Self-Actualized: What will you do to successfully reframe your
conversations or arguments to be fact driven versus opinion driven?
Suggested Activities:
→ Role Play: Have your employee/employees go through a role play
scenario where you are in a fake conflict driven sequence of
communication. Have the employee respond as they normally would
with opinion, then provide your response. Then, have the employee
rephrase that conversation by bringing in facts rather than opinions.
Summarize the activity by asking them how the felt the first
conversationwent, how the second went, and the benefits of using facts
over opinions or emotions.
